The “Teenage Ninja Turtles 2” sequel will be directed by J.J. Abrams, who previously directed “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens” and “The Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
“We’re very excited to be working with J. J. Abrams and we’re excited to have him on board,” said Rob Legato, vice president of marketing and digital for the TMNT.
“We look forward to working with him and his amazing team to bring the most authentic and unique ‘Teeny Turtles’ story to the screen.
TMNT 2 will also have the best creative team in the business working on the screenplay.”
Abrams is also working on a live-action “Teeny Ninja Turtles” movie with Michael Bay.
“The Ninja Turtles 3” will hit theaters on Aug. 31, 2019, followed by a sequel, “The Teenage Mutant Turtles: Out of the Shadows.”
